Sabeel-Kairos coronavirus update
Sabeel-Kairos update – March 25 2020.
As we face these unprecedented times, our thoughts and prayers go out to all of our members, supporters, and partners in Palestine and the people they serve. We face this crisis in our world together, and stand in solidarity, side by side, praying and hoping for God’s grace and peace for all.
These are very challenging times for all of us, and as an organisation, we want to be honest with our loyal members and supporters about what we can, and cannot do during this time. As many of you will know, we have a very small staff team (currently just two part time staff) and a wonderful board of trustees, all of whom volunteer their time and expertise.
Several of us now face the somewhat daunting task of looking after others – whether that be elderly relatives, our own children, or grandchildren. Others are having to isolate themselves away due to being in a vulnerable at -risk group. Our office spaces, both in Leicester where we hold our resources, and at St Clements (Amos Trust) in London where we often hold meetings, are now closed due to the pandemic.
For these reasons we want to inform you that for the foreseeable future, until the crisis is over, our ability to send out resources, collect, read and reply to post, process cheque donations, and conduct any other ‘office-based’ administrative services is severely limited.
Wonderfully, many of our resources and services are available online, meaning you can still access everything you might need. Our website holds electronic copies of all our key resources, including our Investing for Peace campaign resources, the latest edition of Cornerstone from Sabeel Jerusalem as well as up-to-date news and information from Palestine. You will find all of the above on this website.
Our advocacy & campaigning work continues, and you will still be able to support our work by donating to us online.
We also have facebook and twitter accounts, which are updated frequently. Here we post the latest from the region, including breaking news, and any information from partners. To connect with us on social media please like our facebook page here or follow us on twitter here.
We are also committed to staying in touch with you via email and our newsletters as much as we can. This will include the weekly Wave of Prayer, our monthly e-newsletters, and special newsletters and resources such as our Lenten Reflections which are being sent out each Friday. We are also able to connect with our campaign groups (and any of our regional groups that would like to) through skype meetings, emails, and by telephone.
Our commitment to you is that we will do our very best to continue to bring you all the news from Palestine, and to encourage you to continue to campaign for justice, freedom and peace for all in the Holy Land. If at times we are unable to send information in the timely, frequent way we usually do, then please just bear with us, and we hope to resume normal service as soon as the situation improves.
With prayers and thanks for your continued support.
