Prominent Israelis call for recognition of Palestine
Prominent Israelis have sent a message of support to the Balfour Project’s centenary event taking place in Central Hall, Westminster tonight. Signed by Ambassador (retired) Ilan Baruch, Chair of the Policy Working Group, it points out that ‘the seeds of the ongoing dispute between the Palestinians and Israelis were, to a large extent, sown in 1917’ by the Balfour Declaration. It calls on the British Government to recognise Palestine as a state.
