Sabeel Jerusalem

Sabeel Jerusalem is a Palestinian organisation working in East Jerusalem and the West Bank to serve the Palestinian Christian population and help mobilise and inspire them to work for justice, liberation and freedom for all Palestinian people.

Mission

To strive towards theological liberation through instilling the Christian faith in the daily lives of those who suffer under occupation, violence, injustice, and discrimination.

Vision

Local Christians inspired by the life and teaching of Jesus Christ stand for the oppressed, work for justice, and engage in peace-building

Activities:

Alongside serving the local Christian Community through prayer and bible study groups, Sabeel Jerusalem also advocates internationally for an end to Israeli oppression and apartheid.

They host numerous delegations from around the world to show people the reality of life in Palestine, including inviting Church leaders, politicians, musicians, artists and other people of influence to take part in advocacy tours.

They also run a weekly campaigning gathering called Kumi Now which seeks to mobilise the international community on a particular issue facing the Palestinian people each week and unite people to campaign together for justice.

Finally the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Centre is a resource for Churches and individuals seeking to understand and spread Palestinian Liberation Theology. As well as having an extensive library, they have online resources and send out the weekly Wave of Prayer which enables Christians all over the world to pray in an informed way at 12 noon on Thursday each week.
