Israel has a population of about 7.5 million, 20% of whom are Palestinian Arabs. There are about 4 million Palestinians living in what is known as the ‘Palestinian Territories’. This term includes the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. There are also an estimated 4-5 million Palestinian refugees living outside of Palestine/Israel.

According to the UN, over 1.5 million Palestinian refugees live in camps in Palestinian territories, with about 4 million Palestinian refugees in neighboring countries.

The main language spoken in Palestine is Arabic and the majority religion is Islam.
